The KICT, a national research institute in Korea has commissioned to test commercial BIM tools for road project. This project aimed to:
 Identify possible levels of modeling with commercial BIM programs in road project.

Compare major functions provided by commercial BIM programs.

Identify the requirements of BIM deliveries in road projects.

Evaluate existing information classification system.

Taesung SNI built 3D/4D/5D models for a sample road project (total length: 4.73 km including 6 bridges and 3 tunnels) with 8 commercial programs (Autodesk Revit, Bentley Architecture, Allplan, Bentley Rebar, Autodesk Civil 3D, Bentley InRoads, Navisworks, and Navigator) and 1 of 5D system developed by Taesung S&I. In addition, applicability of IFC supported by existing S/W has been also evaluated.
